Eclectic Garden Centerpieces

I just had to share this sweet picture.. it features some of the garden-style arrangements that were a part of the centerpieces for a wedding this past weekend at Tyrone Farm in Pomfret, CT.

The tables were dressed with eclectic glassware of all different shapes and sizes, containing flowers in whites and greens, with a few pops of dried lavender. These bud vases were absolutely darling...

If you're having a cookout this summer, pull out some mix and match vases, stop in the store to buy some stems, and give your table a gorgeous garden look.  See you then!

Just Married!

This car is absolutely picture perfect!!

We decorated the car for the Newport wedding of Whitney and Jonathan this past Saturday. The newlyweds arrived in style at the Newport Yachting Center with floral garlands and this super cute "just married" sign. The garlands' coral peonies and roses matched the bridal bouquets and table decor for the reception.

We love to use flowers in fun and unique ways!

Yelp Flower Arranging Class - Passport to Fox Point

A few Saturdays ago, we hosted a Yelp event as a part of their Passport to Fox Point. Christina, Michelle, and Molly facilitated a class in which the Yelpers (people who write reviews on Yelp) all created their own local, organic garden-style arrangement. We had a TON of fun teaching the class, and the Yelpers seemed to totally love the arranging. It didn't hurt that we threw in a friendly competition, with the Yelpers vying for prizes (one for best overall arrangement, and one for most artistic).

Botanical Gardens, Cincinnati and Niagara Falls Cananda

I had a wonderful time visiting my friend in Cincinnati this past Easter weekend. We saw so many sights including the botanical gardens. It was planted for Easter with Easter lilies, daffodils, tulips, hyacinth and muscari. The first picture is of a plant called Cleopatra's Earings which I thought had such beautiful color.
And they had some amazing very old bonsai trees. Love the roots in this one!
And our trip then took us to Niagara Falls in Canada and right by the falls is a small but very well kept and gorgeous botanical garden..
They had planted beautiful varieties of daffodils I had never seen before. This one is my favorite.

They had so many different types of orchids there as well. This Paphiopedilum is to die for. Wish I could get these for the studio.

Wildflower Simplicity

I was going through last year's wedding pics, excited for a new year of flower designing and arranging, when I came across the pics from Katie and Chris's August wedding. Katie's style of wildflowers, twine, mason jars, and burlap created a warm and comfortable look, complimented by a surround of soft candlelight as the early evening crept into the night.

Bold and Bright Bliss

We always post lots of fabulous wedding and event flowers, but we shouldn't neglect gorgeous everyday arrangements! You can't feel anything but chipper when looking at something as vibrant and beautiful as this arrangement. Happy almost-spring!

Lauren and Mark September 30, 2011

Loved this bridal bouquet! It has so much texture and interest to it. Lauren had a very specific look in mind that was organic with a touch of a modern feel. Using a lot of orchids and calla lilies in her designs as well as flowers like lysimachia, stock, stars of Bethlehem, parrot tulips, kale leaves, parrot tulips and others.

Ceremony was held at the South Ferry Church in Narragansett and the reception at the Towers. Very sad to say we were not able to get any images from the reception :( . Her centerpieces were a collection of different sized cylinder vases with green cymbidium orchids submerged in water and on the table underneath them was tropical foliage. Very fun. We love This church! So simple yet so beautiful and a great location!
